Puppy "O"

Welcome to our new Puppy *O* training format at Pawsitive Attitudes! The *O* stands for obedience and this seven-week class is geared for puppies under six months old. (There will be exceptions if you have a smaller dog.) This class consists of seven weeks of indoor training and is designed to teach the human what to do and what not to do. Because your puppy is a sponge at this age, you will be introduced to puppy education, many training commands will be learned, and you will receive information on different types of training equipment. Later in the class, you will be introduced to nose works, where your dog learns to search for scents, as well as concepts in agility training to teach you and your puppy how to work as a team.  Successful completion of this course means your puppy will be eligible to become a member of the AKC STAR Puppy program.

Beginners "O"

The *O* stands for obedience and this new seven-week class is for dogs over six months old with no prior training or as a brush-up for NEW students entering into the Pawsitive Attitudes training program.  This introductory class will be the most challenging, but it’s important because it lays the foundation for an unbreakable bond between you and your furry companion.  All the basic commands will be introduced and in learning and utilizing these commands you will establish your leadership role.  You will learn to set boundaries and limitations and learn proper timing with respect to rewards.  You will also learn how to work with your dog as a team as we learn additional commands used to perform in noseworks – a skill to encourage your dog to use his/her sense of smell to “find it” as well as introduction to agility.  Each week you will receive homework relative to what was taught in the class of the hour.  YOU’VE GOT THIS!
